02. Creating a Job with Appen

Creating an Appen Account

In this project, you'll be designing a data annotation job using Appen's data annotation tools. You can learn more on their platform homepage. The goal of data annotation is to bring you from unstructured, unlabeled data, to a desired, labeled output. This platform will send your data to human annotators that can help transform unlabeled data.

If you have not yet created an Appen account, you can do so via their homepage.

The Job Creation Page

Soon after signing up, you should get an introductory email from Appen. Click the button titled "Create Job". You will then be directed to the following page where you can see a variety of common labeling jobs to explore and create.

At this point, I'd suggest clicking on a job type that interests you and selecting the Preview option to see a variety of different templates and annotation instructions.

Clicking on the Search Relevance use case. (Notice the `Preview` button.)

**If you navigate away from the main job page, you can always go back by selecting Create Job, Use Cases, or navigating directly to the welcome/jobs page. **

Here is what part of a preview page looks like for the Search Relevance template. The Preview should show detailed annotation instructions and example, as below.
